The MALAIKA Kikoy Robe is handmade in Kenya from 100% cotton kikoy. Closely associated with Kenya’s coast, kikoy is a lightweight cotton fabric known for its colourful stripes.
The wrap-style robe secures at the front with Velcro and can be tightened around the chest using the matching belt for an adjustable fit. The light, breathable cotton makes it comfortable to wear throughout the year.
Kikoy is part of everyday life in Kenya, and almost everyone I know owns at least one. We wrap ourselves in them on cooler days and use them at the beach, for picnics and around the home. I wanted to bring this familiar part of Kenyan life to dogs in Japan, turning it into a robe that is easy to wear, adjustable and, most importantly, CUTE.
