The MALAIKA 18 Varsity Dog Hoodie is handmade in Kenya from soft cotton-blend sweatshirt fabric. Inspired by the varsity hoodie I wore throughout Montreal’s freezing winters, it was created to give dogs that same feeling of warmth and comfort.
The relaxed, slightly oversized fit and front zip make it easy to put on. A leash opening at the back provides access to a harness worn underneath. Each hoodie is finished with a hand screen-printed leopard-print 18.
The number 18 has a special meaning in my family, while the leopard print is a nod to my favourite of Kenya’s Big Five. Leopards are solitary and elusive, and each one has its own unique pattern of spots.
Available in Mint & Sage and Navy & Grey.
